Ubuntu is still Linux!
No matter how many times people will tell me ubuntu is not like any other linux distros I won't believe them. You still have to fumble around in the terminal to install anything outside of default ubuntu packages. Yep I had to install 7zip! I installed it with out a hitch but I can't see why it isn't default. The compilers I had to install with the nice GUI because they weren't installed by default. That makes ubuntu the only linux system without default compilers... There's a difference! I also had my sound stop working on me for no real reason. Rebooting magical fixed it. I don't know how and I don't care to know. This is also the only system where you have to install codecs just to play basic music files like MP3s. Also like other linux distros... Error Messages! Look at this one right here...

Application tries to create a window, but no driver could be loaded.
Make sure that your X server is running and that $DISPLAY is set correctly.
Do you know how to fix that? Do you know what the X Server even is? Because I don't!
Ubuntu with it still being linux is still a very great operating system. It is much easier to use and install. The sudo command happens to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. With all it's ups and downs there is one thing for sure. It's much better than a macintosh.
