Apple's Inovations
As you may have heard that they are comming out with Mac OSX 10.5. This time they steel even more stuff. Allow me to explain.
Time Machine
You back up your system regularly, right? Well, you would. If you had a better way to do it. With Mac OS X Leopard and Time Machine, not only can you back up and preserve everything on your Mac including priceless digital photos, music, movies, and documents without lifting a finger, you can go back in time to recover anything youve ever backed up.
They tell windows to "Photocopy this!" However the photocopy seems to be of windows going to Mac. Windows has had something like time machine that you may know as system recovery. But you have to remeber Apple has no idea who their competition is.
iChat
Filled with fun new features, iChat turns any mere video chat into an event. Video backdrops, Photo Booth effects, photo slideshows, Keynote presentations, or an entire Mac desktop you can share it all with iChat in Mac OS X Leopard.
I can get the same feature from the FREE Yahoo IM. Apple also speaks tabbed conversations. Saying how they invented it. Good thing gaim is open source or else there would be some law suits.
Spaces, Room for everything
You do a lot on your Mac. So what happens when all those projects pile up? Easy. Use Spaces to organize all your windows into groups and banish clutter completely. A Space for everything and everything in its Space. Only with Mac OS X Leopard.
Only with Mac OS X Leopard? Are they joshing me? You can pick up any of the many distros of linux and get the same workspaces. The workspaces were originaly taken out from OS X when they first buit it off of Free BSD. I guess they thought that they would include it and claim it as their own.
Dashboard. Where there's a will, there's a widget
Mac OS X Tiger introduced Dashboard, a wonderful world of widgets that perform common tasks and give you fast access to information on the Web. With Mac OS X Leopard, you get even more widgets, plus .Mac syncing that keeps all your Dashboard preferences on all your Macs.
Windows vista has widgets... No need to switch for that.
Spotlight. Expand your search
With Mac OS X Leopard, the search that finds anything on your Mac will find anything on all your Macs. Use Spotlight to search beyond your desktop across network-mounted folders on other Macs. Combine that with improved performance and the convenience of a Quick Look preview, and Spotlight for Leopard is one maximum-strength search.
Now would be a good time to point out how Apple said that Microsoft stole their inovations from Google. Yet this Spotlight has the same features as Google Desktop. Hypocrite!
iCal
Why keep all the amazing features of iCal to yourself? With Mac OS X Leopard, everyone in your group, family, or company can share calendars, schedule events, and exchange information using iCal.
Windows has had this. Get with the times Apple.
Accessibility
Leopard offers new features destined to make it the most accessible Mac OS yet. New voice technology in VoiceOver, plus Braille support, positional audio cues, and extended keyboard capability give users with visual disabilities more control over their Macs than ever.
I can go through a list of Operating system that have this... But what's the point of wasting my time?
64 Bit. Advanced precision in one OS
Mac OS X Leopard ups the power of 64-bit computing delivered in Tiger. Build and run a new generation of 64-bit applications that address massive amounts of memory. Leopard takes 64-bit computing to the next level, while maintaining full performance and compatibility for your existing 32-bit applications and drivers
This makes me laugh so hard. The fact that Mac can only run on Apple made Machines. They should have their systems buit on whatever processor they have.
Mail. You've got more
With Mac OS X Leopard, Mail transforms mere email into personalized stationery. A virtual memo pad accessible from anywhere. To-do lists that can change as often as your errands do. For everything you do with email and some things you havent thought of yet theres Mail.
Two words... Microsoft Outlook!
Core Animation
Welcome to the next level in computer animation. No, its not a feature film, its your desktop. Core Animation lets Mac developers create applications and experiences as groundbreaking as Spaces and Time Machine, without needing to know esoteric graphics and math techniques.
Core animation is as groundbreaking as 80's technology! I see this as being something stolen. I don't see any details on this so it could be non existing.
All this is just funny. How Mac fanboys love to bash on Windows and say their Mac is so much better. When in reality their Mac is just reaching the inovations that's already on other operating systems.
