Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to all!
I didn't get much but what I did get was good. I got a Sound Card (Made by the wonderful Creative Labs), a leather jacket, a band shirt, a book on Access 2003, and a box that my grandfather had for at least 50 years. It's been a really great Christmas but one thing still bugs me and it's been bugging me all break. What about AJ's Family? How are they doing on this Christmas with out him. That question has really been bumming me out.
On lighter news this blog is one year old. Not me having a blog just the blog itself. I started on this on December 23rd of last year and I've been working on it since. It has also made many improvements since then too! Stuff works, it has way more features, and it's much more secure. The original working blog took me about 4 or 5 hours to make. I worked straight until it was up and running with the first post.
See you New years!

What makes me so special? I don't know maybe you should answer that one for me seeing as you cared enough to waste 30 minutes commenting.
I created this blog and I should be able to put what ever I want on here. I'm not out to educate the world but on the same hand I'm also not out to blab every little detail of my life like some goth hoping that someone may actually care. Honestly I could care less if you wanted to read my blog or not. If you don't want to read my blog you don't have to.
Now I must agree with you though that posting random stuff on the internet is stupid and makes people stupid(Something Awful) Now if you want me to educate the world I can. But why tell just me about it? Why not complain to the world? Why don't you make the whole world thinkers instead of just ones person?
So stop wasting your time trying to make me look like an idiot and preach to the world smart guy. Besides we're not all perfect ![]()
Please take note:
"Of course, if you are bright, I am sure you have realized by now that I have contradicted myself and, in this, you are correct. If you do not know how I contradicted myself, please stop reading now."
On Blogs...
The American culture is a slightly peculiar one. At the dawn of man, identity was found in unity. You were not just Mike but you were Mike of Ur. You were identified by your family and/or city. But times do change and a lot of time has occurred since then implying that a lot of things have changed. In this "culture" we have here in America, the individual trumps all and this mentality kills me but I really cannot say anything because I am part of it. Take, for instance, blogs... I mean really, who in their right mind wants to read about someone else's life. What makes you so special?
In analyzing this issues, I can see a few different cases. But first maybe it would be most appropriate to define what a blog really is for those who may not even be sure of what I am speaking. A blog, by Goggle's Definition's page, is more or less a regularly updated live journal. Well... what is a journal? According to wikipedia, "A journal (through French from late Latin diurnalis, daily) is a daily record of events or business. A private journal is usually an elaborated diary. When applied to a newspaper or other periodical the word is strictly used of one published each day; but any publication issued at stated intervals, such as a magazine or the record of the transactions of a learned society (a scientific or other academic journal), is commonly called a journal."
My initial statements of this article were expressing my disdain for people who have the audacity to think that someone wants to read about their life. Like Clinton for example; WHO CARES? Certainly not me! So in defining my argument I say that I do not see the point in why a person should promote themselves on the international level, through the internet, and I believe that it is utterly unnecessary. This is a waste of the most powerful communications resource known to man.
Of course, if you are bright, I am sure you have realized by now that I have contradicted myself and, in this, you are correct. If you do not know how I contradicted myself, please stop reading now. Otherwise, I shall offer my defense at this point. The original purpose of the internet was to spread information quickly and efficiently. The growing use of the internet to spread information is, in my opinion, leading to a second age of enlightenment. Let us consider, for a moment, what the original age of enlightenment encapsulated. History shows us that the age of enlightenment was a philosophical awakening that led to scientific discoveries. This awakening was brought about by many great minds being exposed to the thoughts of another great mind then retorting. This developed advanced thought as we know it today. Now, consider this website. I do not write about my life. I place thoughts down, there is a stark difference. Furthermore, I promote thought and challenge ideas. Take this article for instance; Case and point.
My hopes are that someone will read this and be inspired to respond. I will, of course, provide either a counter, concession, or approval and this will lead to more profound thought which stands a chance of impacting the world of tomorrow. This gets back to my original statement of how people were identified as a group and not just an individual. No one person has all the answers, but as a whole, we hold a great deal of them.
In closing I would like to say that the best use of the internet is not to talk about what you did with your friends at school but to spread prolific thoughts and to share knowledge so that we may all benefit. The purpose of the website is just that: To promote and challenge ideas. The culture is not completely lost! There must be at least a handful of thinkers out there. Present yourself because no one can go it alone. Think!
