Zelda Zelda Zelda

Well to continue with my master plan that none of you know about, I started a video walkthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I only have one video, long video, up at the moment. I decided to not update it until I finish my A Link to the Past walkthrough. I have a bad habit of abandoning projects of mine due to being sidetracked (which has been happening a lot recently). I believe I have a fix for the latency issue in the video so I should have it fixed in future episodes.

Ah my blogs aren't supposed to be that short. I had to jet while I was typing this up and I then sort of... forgot about it. This edit really doesn't have much to do with Zelda but it's frickin' awesome so I'm going to share it anyway.

I'm not sure how many of my subscribers have heard about Google releasing its own OS but I got to try it out on VirtualBox. Unlike global warming, Google OS is real. I was thinking that it was going to be really cool but all it is is Google Chrome with drivers. Its only purpose is for browsing the internet. It's a neat concept for netbooks or a PSP maybe but on most modern day systems that have at least 2gb of RAM it's a waste of resources. Come on Google! I know you guys can come up with some cool stuff. When I was thinking of OS I was thinking of something that would blow Windows 7 away. Also, What in the world is up with that Mac ad that I've been seeing on youtube? People switching to Mac because they already have to move their files over to upgrade to Windows 7? The last I checked you put in the CD and push install. You don't have to back up even though it's recommended. Your settings will stay the same.

I was going to announce this when I started typing yesterday but I didn't get around to it. The reason I've been doing all these Zelda Walkthroughs is that I've been considering starting a Zelda fan site with Walkthroughs of every Zelda game (in video format). Of course I won't be able to do all the guides myself so I may get some help. Either way leave feedback and some ideas.

We came, we saw, we kicked its ass!

Excuse the title as it's a Ghostbusters quote.

The title explains what I'm thinking right now. It portrays my mood from my recent endeavor. I have never played a title that was so rage inducing and so satisfying to beat than Zelda 2. I was so happy to finish that game that I took a picture. I was playing it with the original cart on my Yobo FC. That's right. I'm hard core! No state saving. No Wii come back and play where you left off. Pure you start at the origin and walk to your destination every time you turn it on.

My thoughts on the game:
I thought the game was really fun but extremely difficult. There is a learning curve that is pretty steep. If you don't figure out how to easily kill the enemies then there is no hope for you. When I had started I was terrified of the Iron Knuckles. As I played I learned the trick to them and could kill them with out taking a hit. I later grinded off of the red ones to build my levels because they seemed too easy for the experience. The game is challenging and the controls are fluent. If you mess up it's your fault. Later on through the game there are some parts that were really aggravating. There is a room in the 6th palace where it is so easy to get knocked off and fall in the lava. It seems almost unfair at some parts. The trek to the grand palace was impossible (to me) with out the use of the fairy spell. Despite the difficulty the game it's really fun to play and I encourage any Zelda fan to try and beat it.

If any one says that Zelda 2 isn't a real Zelda games hasn't played it. Yes it is different but the formula is still there that has been in all of them. If it wasn't for Zelda 2 the series would be a dungeon crawler. Zelda 2 started the overworld quest to get to the dungeons. If you think side scrolling isn't Zelda then you must think that OOT, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess aren't real Zelda games because they are 3D. Oh yeah I can be deep!

Loading Issues

I have uploaded Video 5 for A Link to the Past like 20. The upload had failed only once. Because I didn't refresh the old failed video was loading up.

So! If a video does not load correctly for you please refresh your browser (ctrl-r). If it still doesn't work then send me a message and I will fix the problem. If the problem still persist on your end after I fix it then it is your problem not mine.

Thank you.

A Link to the Past

I had a couple request to do a walkthrough of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I was asked to do the GBA version instead of the SNES version. There are some differences between the versions. The major difference is the change in the puzzle in the 5th dungeon (which is easier) to stop sequence breaking.

I won't make a post for each video so keep a check on what's new in the walkthrough index.

A Link to the Past Index

Let me unveil the first video.

Part 1: Beginnings

In this part I make it out of the castle and collect a few things before getting to the first Palace. I get two Heart Pieces and two Bottles. I also pick up the Bug Catching net to put those bottles to use.

Pink for October

I remembered this year. For the whole month of October my site will be pink to raise awareness of breast cancer. NBCAM link is off to the side and will always be there after October passes. You can go to Pink of October for more information about this event.

Now, other than the style and banner change, I have been doing some work as to adding content to this place before I decide to cancel my hosting and let my domain expire. If you notice on the left in the Navigation that the Math anchor has been replaced with a Walkthrough anchor. Once I realized that no one cares about math other than Randall Munroe, my dorky brother and I, I decided to do something else a bit more entertaining and somewhat sought after(by n00bs). Everything that is posted in that section is self hosted and will not be put on youtube, viddler, et cetera. At the moment only my Link's Awakening walkthrough has been uploaded so If you haven't seen it go watch it now in the new Archtype-k video...... JW player..... Hey I can't recreate something that great plus it's free.

That's all for this update. If you have any comments about the walkthroughs or a suggestion or a request leave a comment or email me. Also, Don't forget to help fund breast cancer research.
