Top 10 Video Game Themes

I've seen many Top 10 theme list but none of them suited me. Of course my taste in music is different but I feel that there are other songs much better than those on Screw Attacks list. The only person that I've seen to put up music that HE thought was good was brentalfloss. Arguing over which songs are better is pointless because everyone has a different list. I created my own list with the same rules as screw attack. One game per franchise. With that said here is mine...

#10: Jinn the Fire - Final Fantasy 3(not 6)
Nobuo Uematsu is a very talented composer. He has written many great works for the Final Fantasy series and is considered a video game music deity. This song in particular stuck out. As I was playing the game and went into the town full of ghost this song was playing. It really added to the mood that something wasn't right.

#9: Forest Maze - Super Mario RPG
Not much to say about this one. It's well composed and really enhances the already spectacular game play.

#8: Objection 04 - Phoenix Wright
This song alone has enough influence to make me become a lawyer. When you heard this song you had a really accomplished feeling because you knew justice had just got served.

#7: Dr. Wily - Mega Man 2
You should have known that this song was coming. It's on many list. When you eventually make it to Dr. Wily stage one (or password to it). You are angry. Just listen to this version with lyrics.

7 does suck.

#6: Jungle - Contra
This is just a good song. Makes you want to kill aliens. Vertexguy did an amazing cover of it.

#5: Bloody tears - Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest
Simon's Quest may not have been the best Castevaina game but one thing is true. The music lives on in our hearts. I would find myself just standing there listening to this song(Until the message popped up for nightfall).

#4: Second Battle - Sword of Mana/Final Fantasy Adventure
You should have known that my favorite franchise wouldn't have been left out. After Deciding not to go with music from Secret of Mana I pick one of Kenji Ito's best. When fighting Julius's second form the song was just epic for a Gameboy. I've searched for a metal remix of it.

Wow.

#3: Ballad of the Wind Fish - The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.
After collecting the eight instruments to awaken the fish from its slumber, you are treated to a really nice musical piece. This song was one that filled me with excitement as I was about to finish the game. Let's see if you get the same feeling from this clip.

#2: Moonsong - Cave Story
If you haven't played Cave Story you are really missing out. There is a reason why this is being ported to Wiiware. Cave Story has many great compositions but this is one that is totally breath taking. Let's face it, you don't like music if you don't like this song.

#1: 13th anthology - Kingdom Hearts
I picked this song because I just had to have Yoko Shimomura as number one. Possibly one of the best, if not the best, video game music composers. She has done many songs for different games such as Little Nemo The Dream Master, Legend of mana, Final Fantasy, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Kingdom Hearts. She has released an album called Drammatica: The best of Yoko Shimomura with fully arranged works of her best. This song is off of that album. If you enjoy this song then I strongly suggest picking up a copy of Drammatica.

Dwelling on the past.

As some of you may or may not know, my brother is getting married this Saturday. I got a message from his wonderful fiance "hello my soon-to-be brother-in-law!" and it got me thinking. I'm not a kid anymore. So, to seek warm fuzzy nostalgia I went reading some of my older post (you know the ones dated back in 06). Some of the post I want to delete and others I cherish (they are all staying so no worries). I saw how in just the couple of years that I've had this blog running how much I have changed and matured. I'm still a nerd (that won't change) I have a different outlook on life now. I act differently than I did (somewhat :x). As much as I have change I'm still me. I know I probably lost you but just stick with me. I have changed mentally. Yeah, I'm still a fat nerdy guy who likes to play video games but I don't have a lot of my bad habits of the past from lack of wisdom.

Knowledge in youth is wisdom in age.

Where's the Pink?

Yeah, I know. The site is supposed to be pink for October. I really don't feel like editing a style sheet. Not now... not ever. This year, instead of going all out like I have in the past, I'm showing my support with a little ribbon in the banner. Nothing much but it's something to say "Hey Breast Cancer is Serious!!!"

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States. According to the American Cancer Society, it's estimated that About 178,480 women in the United States will be found to have invasive breast cancer in 2007. About 40,460 women will die from the disease this year. Right now there are slightly over 2 million women living in the United States who have been treated for breast cancer.

This is a serious issue that needs attention. There are many places you can Donate.

Help in the fight against breast cancer.

Note: Men can get breast cancer too.

I did something right!

In my last post I had the play list to my full run of Space Quest 1: The Sarien Encounter. Well I must have impressed some important people with those videos because I got a subscriber! Sierra Mulitmedia themselves subscribed to my channel! It's no Nintendo or Konami but you still have to admit that it's pretty freaking cool.

So, I would say that they subscribed to my channel for a reason. I would say that reason would be that they want to see me play through the other games as well. So I've decided to continue and do the other Space Quest games and maybe even Kings Quest.

If you are interested you can always check My Channel for new videos. If you have a youtube account you can subscribe smile.
